The biggest lesson Michelle gained from this experience
What are 3 highlights from your career you are most proud of?
I helped with the acquisition of a $2 billion Japanese pharmaceutical company. Despite language barriers, the transition was dignified and respectful of their traditional culture. I’m proud of the impact I’ve made on global health. My team developed technology that saves women’s lives and reduces the prevalence of diabetes. And, I’m proud that I helped a pharmaceutical company focus on customer-centered design. They gained clarity about their patients’ opinions and shifted their messaging.
Why do you believe in the power of connecting and building authentic relationships?
Learning how to recognize, build and keep authentic relationships is critical to my success. I’ve been in some relationships that were inauthentic, and I realized it too late.
What is the single biggest lesson/insight you've gained from practicing the Macklin Method?
Patience. I learned how to relax and take my time when building relationships with others. You can’t force it.
Why are you dedicated to leading Macklin Method sessions?
I enjoy coaching and mentoring others. Plus, I appreciate how accessible the Macklin Method is for new entrepreneurs, small businesses and women who are getting back in the workforce.
Who was on your unapproachable list, and you now have a connection with?
Toby Hecht. He’s one of the nicest people, but very intimidating. I got over my fear and sent him a note. He responded! It wasn’t as hard as I thought.
How do you describe what you stand for today as a result of your work with the Macklin Connection?
I will mentor new entrepreneurs and small business owners and help them practice the Macklin Method.
